Penile implant surgery can be very effective, provided that precautions are taken to avoid infection. Prosthesis surgery is contraindicated if systemic cutaneous or urinary infection is present. Antibiotics should be provided pre-operatively, and the surgical site should be shaved immediately prior to surgery. We use both Mentor and AMS penile implants with specialized antibiotic coats. Patients are hospitalized overnight for closed suction drainage, and sent home on seven days of post-operative antibiotics. Using these and other precautions, our implant infection rate is comparable to national averages (2-4%, 1-2% for antibiotic coated implants). Vascular surgery is recommended only in healthy individuals with recently acquired erectile dysfunction due to a focal arterial narrowing (usually related to trauma) and in the absence of generalized vascular disease. “We chose to make the cut there because we could see an effect when people trained on average a little over the half hour exercise recommended by the Danish Health Authority. No doubt it also helps to follow the official recommendation for exercise, but if you want to solve problems or maintain the beneficial effects for impotency, then you probably need to do a little more,” she says.
Hyperglycemia, or high blood sugar, is common in type 2 diabetes. Its signs and symptoms can be either acute (short in duration) or chronic (last over a long period of time).

Exercise is good for the circulatory system. It keeps blood flowing smoothly throughout the body.
NO is one of the key molecules involved in getting an erection. It works by dilating (widening) blood vessels in the penis, allowing more blood to flow into it, which is how an erection takes place. Anything that disrupts its production is bad news for strong erections.
Certain feelings can interfere with normal sexual function, including feeling nervous about or self-conscious about sex, feeling stressed either at home or at work, or feeling troubled in your current sexual relationship. In these cases, treatment incorporating psychological counseling with you and your sexual partner may be successful. One episode of failure, regardless of cause, may propagate further psychological distress, leading to further erectile failure. Los of desire or interest in sexual activity can be psychological or due to low testosterone levels.

Heart disease, atherosclerosis, high blood pressure, and high cholesterol levels are major risk factors for ED. Peripheral artery disease (PAD), a form of atherosclerosis, is very common in men who have ED. In fact, erectile problems may be a warning sign of these conditions in men at risk for atherosclerosis. Men who experience ED due to vascular causes have a greater risk for angina, (chest pain due to low oxygen levels in the blood), heart attack, and stroke.
Zinc is a micronutrient that plays a role in testosterone production. Low testosterone is associated with severe to moderate deficiency. The consequences of marginal levels are unknown (Prasad et al.,1996). Zinc is also important for immune function.
You need at least three healthy things for an erection: a penis, blood vessels, and nerves. The most simplistic explanation of an erection is that nerves send signals to the blood vessels to deliver more blood to the penis. Then, spongy (erectile) tissue of the penis (corpus cavernosum) gets filled with blood and an erection occurs. If any of the above components are not functioning well, erection may not happen.
Citrulline is an amino acid. It is a precursor to L-arginine, an amino acid that dilates blood vessels and increases blood flow. Despite the fact that citrulline is not a component of muscle, it appears to stimulate muscle growth (Bahri et al., 2013). Increasing blood flow and muscle mass are two advantages that will help you lose weight and improve your cardiovascular health.
